The paintings below are the artist's representation of the emotions captured during our evening performances which include over 50 artists, musicians and dancers all on the same stage with artist painting.  Each of the figures in the each painting represents one of our cast members.  The hardest part of our talent search is to find artist that will paint live for 2 hours on stage in front of 100s of on-lookers.  To me, this is one of the most special outcomes of our show as each of the paintings also represents a piece of me and the artist in the show.  The paintings have infinate emotional value to all those involved. 

Performance painting is the most risky of creative ventures for an artist and I applaud the bravery of our live performing artists and align with their soulfulness represented in the paintings of 2004 and 2005 Night of Dreams.

George Buchanan, born in Roxboro, North Carolina in 1956, lives in the beautiful rural setting of Person County, North Carolina with his wife Kim and daughters Casey & Ashley. Buchanan's endeavors as an artist began as a youth when he apprenticed and assisted professional artists in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and he continued his training in Art/Illustration at Alamance Community College in Burlington, North Carolina.

Mr. Buchanan's professional career began in the mid seventies and his work has received numerous awards. His oil paintings, watercolors and etchings are exhibited in corporate, university, and private collections throughout the United States.

Kay Hutchison, Muralist and Artist

The driving force behind Mural Matters is muralist artist Kay Hutchison, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island. Kay’s wall murals can be found up and down the East Coast from North Carolina to New York to Rhode Island. Her murals bring to life the Tuscan countryside, a Japanese village, a tropical jungle and other exotic locations.

In addition to murals, Kay is known for her colorful still life paintings. She can also transform furniture pieces through painting and antiquing techniques.

Kay is based in Raleigh, North Carolina and is available to discuss with you your wall mural or painting.
