Quotes from The Night of Dreams Premier

From our Audience

“I thought if would be good, I did not expect it to be GREAT!!!”
Matt Epstien
Executive Director, Center for Child and Family Health

“The show was amazing, I’ve heard you talk about it for so long but I just did not get how incredible and different it was going to be. This show is about so many things but most of all I got that Night of Dreams INSPIRES… inspires people, businesses and communities to stretch beyond what is comfortable.”
Triangle Based, IBMer

“What a performance. I love the way you created the diversity. You also did not allow lulls between performances. Everything was beautifully orchestrated. You should be basking in who you are and what you created. Thanks for a most enjoyable evening.”
PHD, Leadership Development

“Thanks so much to you for a really enjoyable evening last night.....what a huge bunch of talented people. The production was truly amazing! That is truly a gift.”

“Again, thanks so much for your gracious gift to me........the concert was amazing.....the reason for it truly meaningful........and it is so great to see people really taking a risk with themselves.”
Audience Member

“What a fun night! My entire family joined us. There was something for everyone. We really enjoyed the inspiring diversity of talent. The dance, the young and the old performers were all just wonderful. Thank you for creating something so wonderful in the Triangle!! When is the next show??”

Audience Member, Cisco

“We all had a great time. The show was really terrific. The boys were talking about it for days, and Beena and I agreed it was very uplifting.”
Audience Member, Womble Carlyle

Dear Teresa,
Thank you for the tickets to last night's performance. All of us, including my 12 year old, had a delightful time. What energy everyone had!! I'm sorry you had to deal with rain one night and the confusion and commotion of the gas leak on the other, but you seem to have worked right through it. I hope your goals were met and look forward to future events. I will be passing on information to various people I know who might want to audition for upcoming ones.

Thanks again for supporting our community in such a creative way,
Kate Howard-Franch, Safe Child

FROM CAST, VOLUNTEERS AND CREW

“The project really increased my students' vision and bonded them more to the idea of art. They learned a lot and we had great fun doing it. The Night of Dreams was a great first show. Very inspirational. Thanks for inviting us to participate. We would love to do more!”
Beena Ollapally, Professor Of Art, Shaw University

What did you like most about what Night of Dreams is creating?
”It was a creative musical event that allowed performers a chance to perform in a bigger venue than they might have had the chance without this type of an event, 2. It allowed a diverse group of performers to work together and experience different styles and types of music.”

“It gave the audience a chance to see performers that they might not have seen or heard of and a chance to realize that even if the performers is not a "star" that people have heard of, does not mean that the quality of the performer is not of a professional standard.”
“It was for a good cause.”
Volunteer, John Deer Employee

“Night of Dreams” provided me the single most memorable night of my life!!!”
Cast Member- Professional and Harvard Graduate - 40 Something

What did Night of Dreams mean to you?
”Spiritually...an awakening, and a chance to contribute to a great cause. musically....a lesson in diversity, both with artists and their artforms, a creative re-birth, and a birth as a performer.
personally....it was transforming in the way of appreciation and new friendships.”

What comments did you receive from your friends and family?
”They and other audience members said it was great, it was exciting, they wished they could do
it..loved the variety in the show and the originality of the whole thing...”
Cast Member- Master of Music Degree, Retired Music Teacher (taking time off for her children) 30th Something

What did Night of Dreams mean to you?
“The concept that A.) a concert can be held to benefit others and assist in their process (as in the center for family health) and B.) that at the same time it can assist those who are putting the concert together by allowing a performance and networking opportunity. For me personally, was able to work with other professionals and learn while also teaching and organizing.”

What did Night of Dreams mean to you?
“I had a wonderful time working with the other cast memebers and learning from their incredible talents. I definitely felt that I grew as an artist and really loved the message behind Night of Dreams - that you should always reach for the stars. I think the show really captured that feeling.”
Cast Member- UNC Student - 19 Years old

“Night of Dreams meant very much to me because I was able to share my love of music with others as well as being able to work with very talented and beautiful people to make wonderful music that inspires and touches people as well. Night of Dreams was a dream come true and I am very honored to have been a part of it!”
Cast Member-Up and Coming Musician/Performer - 19 Years old

What did Night of Dreams mean to you?
“ It meant a chance to help what I consider one of the most important charities there is (thereby helping lots of families I hope through the Center for Child and Family Health), to perform something I've composed (which would probably never happen otherwise!), to work with new people, to dig out my violin and remember that I like to play, to hear some AMAZING stuff from the group! I loved the positive energy around the show and how much every performer is learning from each other. I think we sent a strong message to the audience that dreams are attainable and essential in life.“

What did you like most about what Night of Dreams is creating?
” I love that it is not a show "for ourselves," that we are sharing with
others, backing each other up, and contributing to a great cause. In
theater I see a lot of "look at me" types of performers, and this was NOT the case with this show. Everyone was very supportive of each other, and that's how it has to be! I also love that we are well taken care of! I feel like you're the mother hen in the music business sense. You're everything a manager is, and more in a situation where most people can't have managers. A wonderful chance for young OR old artists!”
Cast Member – Duke University Graduate

What did Night of Dreams mean to you?
”Night of Dreams gave me the opportunity to perform some of my music in a full-blown production with great sound and lighting equipment. It also gave me the opportunity to collaborate with other artists. Being able to have such a high-quality performance has always been a dream of mine.”
Cast Member- Up and Coming Performer

What comments did you receive from your friends and family?
”Everyone was very impressed by the talent and the diversity of the talent in the show. They could tell that a lot of time and energy had been put into the show.”

What did Night of Dreams mean to you?
“Night of Dreams started out being an opportunity for me to perform and work with other local talented artists. Night of Dreams ended up being one of the most awesome experiences of my life! It was so much more than what I had intended. The group that came together for this show all bonded and connected in a way that was beyond anything explainable...definitely serendipity!”

“The concept that when artists come together to COLLABORATE versus COMPETE that the effects are so much more positive and everyone is happier, supported and much more relaxed. From that collaboration, more greatness is created within each artist and the space.”

"All of my family and friends raved about the performances and couldn’t stop talking about it!!!!”
Cast Member- Up and Coming Performer
